The Hotelschool The Hague is a university of applied sciences focussed on one sector: hotel management. Therefore, it has a unique position in the education of the Netherlands. It was founded in 1929 by the employers organisation of the hotel and catering industry. Nowadays, it has become an international institution specialised in education on Hotel Management. In 2002 the school became a member of the Leading Hotel Schools of the World and in the same year it opened a second campus in Amsterdam. The Hotelschool is a small, independent institute with approximately 1900 students and 100 lecturers from the Netherlands and abroad.
Level of Education
The Hotelschool The Hague offers a 4-year international Bachelors degree programme. This programme is also available as a 2-year international fast track course. Furthermore, the Hotelschool offers a Masters programme in Hospitality Management in collaboration with the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. The bachelor programme is at a university of applied sciences and therefore focused on practice and competences and the master programme is taught at a research university and will therefore focus on research, theory and academic knowledge in addition to practice based knowledge.
Both students and employees of the Hotelschool The Hague are from around the world. The school is host to students with 45 nationalities and employees with 20 different nationalities.
