Greetings Forum admins, Dutch citizens, fellow (would be) strangers in the Netherlands,
I am currently in final stages of a plan to go to Eindhoven to start university studies in the coming Fall. I am one of those people who has some directional/spatial anxiety and will feel infinitely better and indescribably more confident with a map and a compass in my hand whenever I am in a strange city. In this age of GPS and handheld devices, that might seem a bit outdated, but still the best option for a guy on a shoestring budget as I am.
I am desperately looking for a recently updated steet map of the city of Eindhoven. As detailed as possible – with as many streets listed as possible along with major buildings and locations (police stations, hospitals, etc.) I wanted to do extensive research online to find online shops where I could buy such items but I am currently stuck using a dial-up connection in a very unstable environment. Can some kind-hearted soul amongst you help guide me on where to look? Perhaps the local Eindhoven tourist bureau has such items and sells them online? Can anyone help provide information?
I am hoping to get the map before I arrive in the country, that’s why I am keen to find shops/people who will sell it online and mail it to where I am. Is this an impossible wish? I hope not… Please do lend a hand if you can, I would really appreciate your help.
Waiting to hear from you,
Try http://www.vvveindhoven.nl/en/tourist-shop/ (this is the tourist shop of the official tourist office in Eindhoven). They will most definitely be able to help you. They are also located naxt to the central train station, so when you arrive in Eindhoven you can go straight into the shop and buy the map before going future into the city. Until that time, I recommend using Google maps or something similar.
Good luck, and hope that this helps 🙂
