Study at the Windesheim University of Applied Sciences (scholarships, grants and fellowships)

The Windesheim University of Applied Sciences has its origin in the Christian religion and culture and its beliefs and inspirations. Windesheim aims for quality, professionalism, diversity and a meaningful role in society. It is an innovative knowledge and expertise centre which challenges individuals and people in organizations to develop themselves into responsible and self-conscious people that:

  • Want to function at a higher professional level
  • Realize personal growth
  • Contribute to development, improvement and renewal of businesses, social institutions and governments.

Windesheim is an outward-looking institution and tries to give a global dimension to all its activities. Furthermore, the university calls its organisation “an ethical community organisation, where you are challenged and empowered to develop into a responsible, principled and confident professional”.

Educational level

Windesheim offers student-focused, practical education in 50 disciplines. It is an university of applied sciences, meaning the education is practical and focused on competences and the labour market. When you have finished a study programme at Windesheim you will receive a Bachelors degree. Furthermore, it is possible to take part in an honours programme at this university. The honours programme is fully taught in English and takes four years to complete.

International student programs

Windesheim has a special student organization for international students. This organization is called SUN (Students United in the Netherlands) and will help you to get to know the university, the city and to make some friends. To do this SUN organizes several social programmes and introductory weeks for exchange students at Windesheim. Next to these activities you, as an international student, will get a Dutch mentor. This is a Dutch student who will help you with practical stuff on arrival, give you all information you need and answers all the questions you have.

Courses and departments

Windesheim offers more than 50 courses. Unfortunately, not all of these are taught in English. There is, however, one special four year bachelor degree programme which is fully taught in English: the Honours Programme. This programme focuses on international project management and is open for both Dutch and international students aiming for an international career. If you choose to follow this programme you will graduate with a BBA (Bachelor in Business Administration) and you can specialize in either Public Health or Communication & Media.
